Tennessee Titans Quarterback Marcus Mariota Has Successful Leg Surgery

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:41 p.m. ET

Former Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota broke his tibia last weekend and had surgery on Wednesday.

Marcus Mariota had a successful season with the Tennessee Titans in his second go around. He threw for over 3000 yards and 25 touchdowns. He had his team in the chase for a Playoff spot, but it all came to an end last weekend in a road loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mariota was injured in the third quarter with the team down 25-10 at the time. In the end, it was a 38-17 loss, but the future looks bright for Tennessee.

Marcus Mariota had successful surgery and had a metal plate in his leg to aid in the healing process, which is expected to take 4 to 5 months. The former Oregon Quarterback should be rehabbing in time for OTA’s, but more realistically should be ready to go for Training Camp this summer.

Mariota finished the season with a Passer Rating of 95.6 and is the first Tennessee Quarterback to go back to back seasons with a Passer Rating over 90 according to WSMV.

The Titans will turn to Matt Cassel to finish the season against the Houston Texans this weekend.
