Tennessee vs Virginia Tech Battle at Bristol Official Preview: Prediction, Kickoff Time, Television Info, Live Stream, Point Spread for Vols and Hokies
Here is the official preview for the Tennessee vs Virginia Tech game. See the kickoff, TV info, prediction, and line for the Volunteers and Hokies match-up.
Tennessee vs Virginia Tech is set to feature the largest crowd in college football history at the Bristol Motor Speedway Saturday.
The Vols began the season with ridiculously high expectations only to cause major concerns after needing overtime to beat the Appalachian State Mountaineers, but they have a chance to redeem themselves this week.
Meanwhile, the Hokies have a new head coach in Justin Fuente and are deceptively good with his offensive genius, Jerod Evans as their new quarterback, and a defense that was great last year and returns nine starters along with defensive coordinator Bud Foster.
In short, this is a dangerous game for Tennessee, even if they’re the favorite to win.
Here is all the information you need to know about the Tennessee vs Virginia Tech game.

As if the opening game wasn’t tough enough for the Vols, they’ve got their hands full again in this one. And it’s damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Virginia Tech is much better than people think, but nobody recognizes that now. As a result, if Tennessee wins a close game, which they should, they won’t get any credit.
Heck, they could actually get some criticism for keeping it close. If they lose, they’ll be raked through the coals.
However, people will likely look back on this as an impressive win when they see what the Hokies do throughout the year.
Also, it’s a great second test for the Vols and should well-prepare them for SEC play. They may have a tough opening slate to 2016, but it will serve them well in the long run.
Both teams will have to manage the large crowd and the hype that comes with it, and both teams will have to cut down on their mistakes from last week.
Prediction
We are sticking with the preseason prediction we made here. Tennessee will increase the concerns of Vols fans after this game because they will struggle. Bud Foster’s elite defense will give Joshua Dobbs and their offensive line trouble all night.
Jerod Evans will make a couple of great plays on great calls by Fuente. Tennessee will counter with a big special teams play and a huge dose of Jalen Hurd.
Late in the fourth, Dobbs will finally get it going with his team down 20-17. He’ll lead a game-winning touchdown drive, and Virginia Tech will turn the ball over on their final drive, securing a four-point victory for Tennessee.
