Testaverde sparks Albany to 35-28 win over St. Francis

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Vincent Testaverde passed for 331 yards and three touchdowns, including a 24-yard scoring strike to freshman Dev Holmes in the fourth quarter, to lift Albany (NY) to a 35-28 victory over St. Francis (Pa) on Saturday.

Holmes finished with seven catches for 128 yards and two TDs and Jerah Reeves added six receptions for 104 yards and a score for the Great Danes (2-2). Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks ran for 92 yards and a TD as Albany piled up 503 yards of offense.

Ethan Stark kicked two field goals in the final five minutes of the second quarter to give the Great Danes a 20-14 halftime lead. Bear Fenimore connected with Cyrus Holder for a 57-yard score on the Red Flash's first possession of the second half for a 21-20 lead. Testaverde answered with a 65-yard scoring strike to Reeves and Ibitokun-Hanks' 2-point conversion run put Albany up 28-21. Fenimore's 1-yard TD pass to Terell Johnson pulled St. Francis even with 24 seconds left in the third quarter.

Fenimore finished with 286 yards passing and three touchdowns for the Red Flash (1-3). Holder had six catches for 132 yards and a score.
