Texas A&M Football: Aggies Remain Top 10 Team

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Amway Coaches poll was released Sunday afternoon, and it comes as no surprise that the Alabama Crimson Tide remain the number one team in the nation. What’s more puzzling is why someone threw Clemson a first place vote rather than making the Tide a unanimous choice.

The Aggies fell to 10th, dropping four spots after their loss in Tuscaloosa. The Aggies were ranked 9th in the AP Poll. The biggest fallers this week were Ohio State, who lost to Penn State on the road, and early season Cinderella, Houston. Houston dropped 13 spots after a shocking upset loss at the hands of the SMU Mustangs, who haven’t really had a great team since their program received the death penalty.

Auburn climbed 7 spots after stopping Arkansas 56-3. After a questionable start, the Tigers are now receiving some national attention. Joining the ranks this week are Colorado and Virginia Tech.

As things sit right now, the Texas A&M Aggies have wins over the No. 17 and No. 18 team in the nation with a match up with No. 19 LSU looming on Thanksgiving Day.
