The Texas A&M football team has seen a resurgence under Kevin Sumlin. Here’s our look at the best of the best Sumlin-era offensive players.

Texas A&M University, also known as Offensive Lineman U, has churned out elite offensive lineman since Sumlin arrived in College Station.

T: Jake Matthews

Matthews played on the right and the left side of the line in his four years at Texas A&M and was named to the ALL-SEC First Team as a senior in 2013. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the sixth overall pick in 2014

G: Germain Ifedi

The 31st overall selection in the 1st round  of the 2016 NFL draft, Ifedi became the fourth consecutive Texas A&M offensive lineman to be drafted in the first round.

C: Patrick Lewis

Lewis wasn’t a high draft choice, but he was a four year starter from 2009 to 2012. Lewis was an anchor for an ever evolving offense line and a fan favorite during his time in Aggieland. Lewis went undrafted, but has always managed to find work in the NFL, currently with the Buffalo Bills.

G: Cedric Ogbuehi

Another four year starer, Ogbuehi was a first team Walter Camp All-American in his senior season in 2014. Ogbuehi was drafted 21st overall by the Cincinatti Bengals.

T: Luke Joeckel

Joeckel won the Outland trophy as a senior in 2012 before being drafted with the number two overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Wide Receivers

WR: Mike Evans

Evans is currently making NFL defenders look silly. In his final season at Texas A&M he was an All American and led the SEC in touchdown receptions with 12. He racked up 1,394 receiving yards on just 69 receptions, a whopping 20.2 yards per catch. Evans was the 7th overall pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2014 NFL draft.

WR: Josh Reynolds

Nobody is going to catch Jeff Fuller’s Aggie record for receiving touchdowns, 34, but that’s probably because Reynolds was a junior college transfer. Reynolds never cracked 1,000 yards at A&M, but he quietly racked up 26 touchdowns in 35 games.

Slot WR: Ryan Swope

Most fondly remembered for catching Manziel’s circus touchdown against the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Swope was a rock for the Aggie offense during some big games. His senior season in 2012 he led the team in touchdown receptions, catching eight of his 24 career touchdowns.

Slot WR: Christian Kirk

Kirk holds a Texas A&M record with five punt return touchdowns. He’s a sophomore. As a freshman Kirk had 1,009 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns.

Backfield

QB: Johnny Manziel

Johnny Football was the first freshman to win the Heisman trophy and the Aggies torch bearer as they stepped into the South Eastern Conference. The renovated stadium isn’t referred to as “The House that Johnny Built” for no reason.

RB: Ben Malena

The running back position hasn’t been much of a factor in the A&M offense under Sumlin, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t had any play makers. He averaged more than five yards per carry over three seasons. King Ben will forever be a hero in Aggieland.
