Texas A&M names Scott Woodward new Director of Athletics
Texas A&M acted quickly in naming Scott Woodward the school's new Director of Athletics Friday. Woodward comes to the Aggies from Washington, where he served in the same role since 2012.
A&M was forced to find a replacement for former AD Eric Hyman after he stepped down from his job in College Station Tuesday after three years on the job.
"It is an honor to join the Aggie Family and I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity that President Young has afforded me," Woodward said Friday. "Texas A&M is an outstanding university and athletic program competing in what is arguably the best conference in college sports. I can promise the Aggie faithful that we will compete for championships across the board and we will do so with integrity, class and a commitment to our student-athletes. I couldn't be more excited to get started."

Woodward is familiar with the SEC landscape, as he graduated from LSU in 1985. It was under Woodward's tenure with the Huskies the school was able to lure former Boise State head coach Chris Peterson to Washington.
