Texas Tech thinks it has the formula to slow LSU's Leonard Fournette

Published Dec. 16, 2015 11:27 a.m. ET

It's no secret that Texas Tech has struggled to stop the run this season. The Red Raiders are second to last in the FBS in rushing yards allowed, and some weeks ago, Leonard Fournette looked like a lock to win the Heisman.

Fournette tailed off at the end of the season, but he's still a freakishly talented running back that will have a chip on his shoulder. Knowing those two things, it would seem like Fournette would run wild on Texas Tech.

But the Red Raiders think they might have a formula to stop Fournette.

“He’s a phenomenal athlete, one of those once-in-a-generation-type backs,” Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “We’ll have our hands full trying to slow him down.”

Very true. See why there are possible reasons for optimism for Tech in slowing Fournette.
