The pressure is on USC's Steve Sarkisian to win now

There's always pressure to win at USC, but an argument could be made that Steve Sarkisian was given some leeway his first season, what with NCAA sanctions and all.

But in just his second season with the Trojans, fans are expecting a huge turnaround from a 2014 season that featured nine wins, including a thrashing of Notre Dame, and a Holiday Bowl victory. But 2014 also saw some epic collapses, most notably against Boston College on the road, and, of course, yet another loss to UCLA.

Keith Arnold over at Inside The Irish sat down with longtime USC beat writer Ryan Abraham of USCFootball.com for a Q&A. When asked what the expectations are for Sark heading into his second season, Abraham seemingly spoke for a fan base running out of patience.

"In February Sark signed the top-ranked recruiting class, which is certainly a positive development in his tenure, but it also puts even more pressure on him to win and win now," Abraham said via Inside The Irish. "The sanctions are over, the depth should be much better, the overall talent is there, so there are no reasons why this team shouldn’t at least win the division.

"Anything short of that will be a disappointment and I would expect if that happens, the boosters and alumni will start putting pressure on the administration to make a change. Is that fair? Probably not, but Sark had big shoes to fill taking over for the extremely popular Ed Orgeron so the pressure was on from Day 1."
