Three Reasons Stanford Will Win The Pac-12 North
Can Stanford compete with the Oregon Ducks and win the Pac-12 North again this season? If they do, it would be the third Pac-12 North title in four years for the Cardinal.
The writers over at Rule Of Tree came up with three reasons why the Cardinal will win the Pac-12 North this season.
First thing mentioned is senior QB Kevin Hogan. Hogan is coming off of a subpar junior year; however, he really showed up in the last three games of the season. Here's what Rule Of Tree had to say about Hogan:
"Kevin Hogan had his breakout season as a redshirt freshman, but it's not like his last season was sub-par. His performance was just overshadowed by the Ducks having the Heisman winner in Marcus Mariota. Now that the Super Mariota hype machine is gone, Kevin Hogan's abilities will be recognized more. It helps that there are four well established offensive lineman returning to the Cardinal, so there should be a well protected pocket each time Hogan drops back to deliver a strike. Couple that with his strong performance at the end of the year, and Hogan might be primed for his best season yet."
They also mentioned that Stanford's group of running backs will standout in 2015 and that the schedule, which features games against USC, UCLA, Oregon, Cal, Notre Dame and Arizona State is manageable enough to expect big things this year.
