Trio of Wolverines taken in NFL draft

Three Michigan products were picked up by a trio of NFC teams in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Devin Funchess started things off as he was picked up by the Carolina Panthers in the second round with the No. 41 overall pick. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound receiver will hope to become a new weapon for quarterback Cam Newton after catching 62 passes for 733 yards last season then opting to leave school with a year of eligibility remaining.

Twenty-two picks later, the Seattle Seahawks grabbed defensive end Frank Clark with the No. 63 overall pick. A 6-foot-2, 270-pounder from Cleveland, Clark was second in the Big Ten with 1.35 tackles-for-loss per game but was thrown off the Michigan team after he was arrested in the wake of an alleged domestic violence incident. According to MLive.com, domestic violence charges were dropped after Clark agreed to plead guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct.

Linebacker Jake Ryan finished things out for Michigan as a fourth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers. The 6-foot-3, 236-pound Ryan was the 129th overall pick. He finished second in the Big Ten with 9.3 tackles per game and had 14.0 tackles for loss.
