Two Kentucky players ruled to be ineligible by NCAA

Published Aug. 25, 2015 12:51 p.m. ET

Two former Nebraska Cornhusker players have been denied hardship waivers and will not be eligible to compete for the Wildcats this season after transferring into the football program during the offseason.

Linebacker Courtney Love and tight end Greg Hart will now both be forced to sit out the season due to NCAA transfer rules. Both will be eligible to play for the Wildcats in 2016.

A redshirt sophomore, Love was expected to provide depth for the Kentucky linebacking corp after appearing in 12 games for Nebraska in 2014. Hart, also a sophomore, has only appeared in one game in his career.
