UCLA Football: Kickoff Time Announced for the Stanford Game
With UCLA Football’s game against the Stanford Cardinal only two weeks away, the kickoff time between Pac-12 rivals has finally been announced.
The UCLA Football team finally has the kickoff time and television broadcast set for their much anticipated game against the thorn-in-the-side Stanford Cardinal.
Kickoff for UCLA and Stanford’s September 24 contest has been set for 5pm PT and will be televised on ABC (channel 7 in Los Angeles).
The primetime slot will feature one of the biggest games in the Pac-12 Conference this season.
More from Go Joe Bruin
Both UCLA and Stanford were choosen to win their respective divisions at the beginning of the season, with the Cardinal selected to once again win the Pac-12 Conference.
Aside from what is at stake in the conference, this game is huge for the Bruins as they will try to defeat the Cardinal for the first time in eight tries. In the four years UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora has played the Cardinal, his team’s have lost five times.
The closest they came to victory was in Mora’s first year when his team won the South Division, giving them a trip to the 2012 Pac-12 Championship Game. In that battle, UCLA nearly defeated the Cardinal for the conference title, but came up short in a 27-24 loss.
It has been debated, especially on Go Joe Bruin, that this could be the best shot UCLA has at defeating Stanford. The Cardinal lost several offensive linemen and QB/Bruin Killer Kevin Hogan after last season. Unfortunately, they still have a stout defense and Head Coach David Shaw leading things.
It is possible for UCLA to get the win, but they have a lot of work to do before then. Currently UCLA is 1-1 after a season opening loss to Texas A&M and struggled in a win against UNLV. UCLA heads to BYU this weekend.
