UCLA Football vs. USC: Injury Report Heading Into the Crosstown Showdown
The UCLA Football team (and the USC Trojans) have a few a few key injuries heading into this season’s rivalry game.
The UCLA Football team would have a long list of injuries at this point in the season, but luckily that has been limited.
The bad part concerns who the injuries have affected. This weekend, UCLA and USC meet for 84th time and though the Trojans are expected to win big, they are losing in terms of injuries.
Here is a quick list of injuries for both teams:
QB Josh Rosen (Shoulder) – Rosen is out for the season after successful surgery on the nerves in his throwing shoulder.
More from Go Joe Bruin
OL Andre James (concussion) – James has been going through concussion protocols but could be good to go on Saturday.
OL Kolton Miller (ankle) – Miller is out of his cast and walking around, but according to Jim Mora, Miller is still recovering and would be “surprised” if he played.
TE Nate Iese (leg) – Iese injured his leg against Colorado and has been taking it easy in practice this week. He is a game-time decision.
As for USC, we turn to Reign of Troy for their injury report. Editor Alicia de Artola has listed up to 14 players that could miss the Crosstown Showdown due to injuries, which has affected the Trojans’ depth.
DT Kenny Bigelow (knee), C Toa Lobendahn (knee) and WR Steven Mitchell (knee) are out for the season. DL Noah Jefferson (academics/shoulder) and RB Vavae Malepeai (shoulder) have more long-term injuries.
DL Josh Fatu (ankle) and CB Jonathan Lockett (hip) are doubtful while WR Deontay Burnett (knee), OLB Porter Gustin (ankle), RB Ronald Jones II (knee), CB Iman Marshall (hamstring), S John Plattenburg (illness), DL Stevie Tu’ikolovatu (knee) and RB Aca’Cedric Ware (ankle) are probable, according to de Artola.
