UNC Football: Ryan Switzer to play in Senior Bowl
UNC standout Ryan Switzer has accepted an invite to play in the 2017 Senior Bowl that will take place in January
The North Carolina Tar Heels have two regular season games left before bowl season this year as they prepare for The Citadel on Saturday.
Yes, the season has flown by.
While the Tar Heels are looking to rebound for a disappointing loss to Duke on Thursday night, one player received an invitation to play in a pretty cool game.
Senior Ryan Switzer will play in the 2017 Senior Bowl which will take place in Mobile, Alabama in just a few months.
Switzer will be the first Tar Heels player to play in the game since Kareem Martin in 2014.

With 74 receptions this season, Switzer broke the Tar Heels all-time record for most receptions in a career with 222. He passed former teammate Quinshad Davis who set the mark in 2015.
Switzer needs just 12 receptions to break Dwight Jones single-season record of 85 which he accomplished in 2011. He’s not only dangerous as a receiver but as a return man as well. He needs just one punt return to tie the career mark set by Texas Tech’s Wes Welker and Oklahoma’s Antonio Perkins.
After going to the ACC Championship last season, the Tar Heels need some help to return to the game this season. They will need a win over North Carolina State and a loss by Virginia Tech to rival Virginia in two weeks.
The 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. ET at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.
