UNC Football: Tar Heels pull out trick play for touchdown
UNC digs deep into their playbook for a trick play that results in a touchdown
It’s been so far, so good for the North Carolina Tar Heels in Charlottesville on Saturday.
UNC currently leads the Cavaliers by double-digits in the second half as they look to keep pace with the Virginia Tech Hokies in the ACC Coastal Division.
During the first half, the Cavaliers kept it close by scoring a touchdown to pull them into a tie with the Tar Heels.
They scored on a fake field goal trick play, that stunned Larry Fedora and the Tar Heels.
But it didn’t take long for UNC to respond back as they also went to the trick part of their playbook and in a big way.
On the ensuing drive, UNC lined up with T.J. Logan in the Wildcat at quarterback. Logan took the direct snap and handed it off to receiver Ryan Switzer on a reverse.
Switzer then pitched it to quarterback Mitch Trubisky. From there, Trubusiky did the rest:

Now, that was number 13 on the touchdown reception but it wasn’t Mack Hollins. Instead it was Bug Howard who is wearing number 13 in honor of his fellow receiver, after Hollins suffered a season-ending injury last week against Miami.
The touchdown put UNC up 14-7 and they have added two more touchdowns to their lead.
