UNC Football: Tar Heels reveal jersey combo for game against Illinois
What jersey combination will UNC wear for their week two game against Illinois? The equipment team just revealed it..
Week two of the college football season is here.
Despite no games on Thursday, the week kicks off on Friday with a few games. But the main slate is on Saturday (as it always is) and that includes a North Carolina-Illinois matchup in Champaign.
The two teams will meet with a kickoff time set for 7:30 p.m. ET, as the Tar Heels look to get their first win of the year.
Illinois on the other hand is searching for a statement win, which would be the first of the Lovie Smith era.
When the two teams meet, UNC will be sporting a different look. The equipment team released its uniform combination for the game on Twitter:

Notice the caption that reads “a new combo.” That’s right, the Tar Heels are going with the white jersey and white pants look but topping it off with a blue helmet.
I browsed around the internet looking for the last time they wore this combo. According to ACC-tracker, part of the Uni-Watch blog, they haven’t worn it since at least 2000.
Either way, I like it.
It’s totally different from the blue jersey, white pants and blue helmet look they sported in the week one loss to Georgia.
And yes, the argyle pattern is still there which is one of the best looks in all of college football.
Illinois has yet to announce their jersey combination, but they likely will be in the navy blue look with orange pants. Check back with Keeping It Heel for more information regarding the Tar Heels football team as they prep for Illinois.
