UNC vs. UGA: Game info, time, TV and more
Get ready for UNC-UGA and the college football season kickoff
It’s finally game day.
The North Carolina Tar Heels and Georgia Bulldogs will open up the 2016 season in Atlanta as part of the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic.
Coming off an impressive 11-3 season, the Tar Heels are looking to return to the ACC Championship Game. This time however, they are hoping to take the next step and win the ACC outright.
Their first test of the 2016 season wont be easy though.
The Bulldogs come into the game loaded with talent, especially in the backfield. Junior running back Nick Chubb is among the best in the nation at his position. He will certainly be the focus of the UNC defense as they look to make the Bulldogs one-dimensional.
Head coach Kirby Smart opted to start redshirt senior Greyson Lambert ahead of the five-star prospect Jacob Eason. Smart is hoping Lambert’s experience pays some dividends come Saturday.
The Tar Heels are familiar with opening the season against SEC East opponents. In 2013, they lost to South Carolina on the road. Last season, to open the year they lost to the Gamecocks again but this time in Charlotte.
Here’s to hoping 2016 is different and the Tar Heels can start 1-0.
