Unique award nomination recognizes unique talent of Michigan's Peppers

Jabrill Peppers is among four finalists for the Paul Hornung Award, recognizing his value in multiple areas for No. 12 Michigan.

While most honor the best player at a certain position or on one side of the ball or the other, the Horunung Award is unique in that it goes to the player judged to be the most versatile in the country.

Peppers certainly fits that description. Primarily a defensive back, he has played 24 of his 809 snaps on offense this season.

Peppers has 37 tackles, caught six passes for 54 yards and run six times for 24 yards and two touchdowns.

Joining Peppers as finalists are Adoree Jackson of USC, Christian McCaffrey of Stanford and Robert Nkemdiche of Mississippi.

According to a press release from the Louisville Sports Commission (presenters of the award), all four finalists have combined to play every position in the offensive backfield and every receiver position.

Peppers, Jackson and McCaffrey have also returned punts and kickoffs.
