Murphy is ranked as the No. 18 defensive end in the 2016 class and the No. 255 overall player, per 247 Sports.
USC closed Murphy despite a strong push from Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. In fact, Harbaugh and Murphy had a "Netflix and chill" session in January.
