USC, UCLA control their own fates in the Pac-12 South

Published Nov. 17, 2015 5:35 p.m. ET

Both UCLA and USC have had somewhat disappointing seasons in 2015. USC lost its head coach in Steve Sarkisian, while the Bruins have dealt with tons of major injuries and has fallen short of its preseason goals.

However, both the Bruins and the Trojans can claim the Pac-12 South crown by winning out. The Trojans (7-3, 5-2) travel to Oregon on Saturday to take on the red-hot Ducks. Meanwhile, the Bruins (7-3, 4-3) will travel to Salt Lake City to take on a Utah team that has been strong all season.

Should the Trojans and Bruins both win on Saturday, it will set up an epic crosstown rivalry on Nov. 28. The game, which is being played at the Coliseum this season, would be for the Pac-12 South crown.
