Vernon Adams says he's 'nowhere near' Jeff Lockie in grasping playbook

Vernon Adams Jr. is making strides in Oregon's QB competition; however, he still feels he has a long way to go in order to catch up to redshirt junior Jeff Lockie.

“I’m nowhere close to knowing the whole playbook like Jeff does,” Adams said in a video released on GoDucks.com. “I’m going to keep studying my playbook, watching extra film, learning from my mistakes.”

While Adams may not be completely up to speed yet, he is enjoying the opportunity to compete with Lockie and the other QB's.

“It’s just a blessing,” he said. “I’m thankful for this opportunity to compete with Jeff and Travis (Jonsen) and the other quarterbacks to be the starter and lead this team.”
