Wake Forest picks John Wolford as its starting quarterback
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) John Wolford will begin his fourth season as Wake Forest's starting quarterback.
The Demon Deacons released their depth chart Friday, six days before the season opener against Presbyterian.
Wolford was listed as the starter over redshirt sophomore Kendall Hinton. Hinton began preseason camp as the starter after missing the final 10 games of last season with a knee injury .
Coach Dave Clawson gave both QBs work with the first team because they have been prone to injuries, but preferred for one to step forward and claim the job.
Wolford has started 33 of 37 games during his first three years with the Demon Deacons, and threw two touchdown passes in the Military Bowl victory over Temple before he was injured.
