Washington's defensive line will need work

Published Apr. 29, 2015 7:52 p.m. ET

During the spring, the Huskies managed to turn one of their weakness 2014, the defensive backfield, into a strength. However, Washington's defensive strength in 2014, the defensive front seven, could be an issue heading into 2015.

With the losses of Shaq Thomspon, Danny Shelton, Hau'oli Kikaha and others, the Washington staff will be tasked with replacing top NFL prospects. In all, six of Washington's front seven starters from 2014 will not be with the Huskies this upcoming season.

Replacing those top prospects will be Elijah Qualls, Taniela Tupou, Jaylen Johnson, Greg Gaines, Vita Vea and Will Dissly.

The Huskies have a lot of pieces and should be able to figure out the front seven puzzle by the time September roles around, but it will be a storyline to watch come August.
