WATCH: Alex Rodriguez scores a touchdown at Yankee Stadium
New York Yankees fans might not know a lot about the Indiana football team, but they heard a familiar name score for the Hoosiers on Saturday.
Alex Rodriguez put Indiana on top 31-27 in the third quarter with a 10-yard touchdown run against Duke in the Pinstripe Bowl.
No, not the Yankees slugger but the Indiana reserve running back.
This Rodriguez is a former walk-on from Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis.
He entered the game with only eight carries for 23 yards this season but came up big in a key moment for a team missing All-Big Ten running back Jordan Howard.
Rodriguez's scoring run came in relief of Devine Redding, who ran for 228 yards in Howard's absence.
Rodriguez carried four times for 15 yards as the Hoosiers dropped a 44-41 decision in overtime.
