Watch Barry Odom speak about Mizzou's 2016 recruiting class
Missouri and head coach Barry Odom welcomed in 20 new Tigers on Wednesday.
The class is an interesting one on a number of fronts. With a new coaching staff virtually implemented a month before signing day, a process of establishing -- and reestablishing -- relationships with recruits was immense and imperative.
Odom spoke about the class, and had a few main goals right off the bat. He wanted to build depth, and hit on some needs -- particularly when it comes to the skill positions.
"We have addressed some needs that we obviously needed to hit immediately," said Odom.
Odom mentioned the energy with which his new staff has demonstrated in this last month. Suffice it to say, it has paid off quite well.
"To see their energy on the road and in the homes, in the schools, on the phone, the relentlessness that they attacked every day with in order to attract the right fit to Mizzou...obviously very excited about that moving forward," said Odom.
There are a few players with the potential to impact the depth chart right away for the Tigers. Arkansas native Damarea Crockett is arguably the most high-profile signee.

With Russell Hansbrough gone, the running back could step in and see time early. Corner back DeMarkus Acy and tight end Brendan Scales (a former Alabama commitment) could also impact as true freshmen.
