Watch: Riley starts new Huskers celebration: 'Hip hip, hooray'

Nebraska head coach Mike Riley is known as a very nice guy.

That's the most common thing fans and media alike heard about him but I don't think anyone, especially his players were prepared for the big celebration he had up his sleeve after the team got their first victory on Saturday night over South Alabama.

It is really best explained by watching the video:

Riley seemed a bit shy about the video leaking out but offered this explanation of continuing the tradition after legendary CFL Cal Murphy started it with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers back in 1983 on Monday during his press conference:

"Of course then when I became the head coach of that team (in 1987), I had to keep doing it, and then as we get superstitious and go forward in life and there’s other jobs, we did it all the way through. I had to lead off with our team, 'I know you’re going to think this is corny, but we have to do this anyways.'  So that’s our history of it.”

If the Huskers continue to win, expect this celebration to take off like wildfire in the Cornhusker State.
