Given that Stanford is essentially the birthplace of virtual reality in college football -- and, you know, home to tons of smart people -- it should surprise you not even a little bit that the Cardinal would be the first program to use VR to push a Heisman Trophy campaign.
That's where we are, as Stanford is set to show off a new 360 virtual reality video on Saturday featuring Heisman candidate and all-around stud running back Christian McCaffrey.
The video will be shown on the broadcast of the Pac-12 title game, and Stanford will have Google Cardboard devices in the press box so media members can enjoy the full experience of the video.
Here's a first-look at the most innovative Heisman video we've seen yet (Stanford says the best viewing experience is on an Android phone using Google Cardboard, but it's still a pretty cool experience here as well).
