What would a rivalry game be without a little bad blood? The tension was high and tempers eventually flared Friday afternoon in the North Carolina-North Carolina State game in Chapel Hill.
The underdog Wolfpack jumped out to a surprising 21-0 lead before the Tar Heels finally found the end zone to cut the deficit to 21-7. And then came this crazy play – it appeared to be a fumble but was ruled an incomplete pass after review – that resulted in a benches-clearing situation and an ejection in the second quarter.
UNC’s Jalen Dalton was tossed from the game after throwing a punch, but order was quickly restored. NC State then punted away the ball before taking that 21-7 lead into halftime.
