Watch: UNC and NC State brawl at midfield after bizarre fumble

Tempers flared between UNC and NC State on Friday, after a prolonged, weird fumble that multiple players on both sides were unable to recover exploded into a full-on fracas.

North Carolina is trying to stay alive in the ACC Coastal division and NC State is playing for bowl eligibility, so couple those with an in-state rivalry and you’ve got a recipe for high emotions.

With the Wolfpack leading 21-7 in the second quarter, Matthew Dayes’ fumble ignited a ridiculous sequence of events involving the loose ball. Benches cleared momentarily, and UNC’s Jalen Dalton was ejected after throwing a punch.
