WATCH: Va. Tech punter blasts ball 110 feet over Hokies' scoreboard

Hang 10? How about a 110? That’s what Virginia Tech punter A.J. Hughes did on Wednesday when he hung a ball 110 feet over the Hokies' scoreboard during practice.

In a video tweeted by Hughes, the punter can be seen booming the ball over the scoreboard before celebrating the feat.

“It was halfway through practice, and I looked up at the scoreboard, and it was almost inviting me to kick a ball over it,” Hughes told ESPN.

Hughes, a 6-foot, 198-pound senior who is averaging 41.8 yards per punt this year, said it only took two times to get the job done.

Hughes and the Hokies (2-1, 0-0 ACC) will be back in action this Saturday when they play at East Carolina (1-2, 0-1 AAC) at 3:30 p.m. ET.
