A little more than a month after taking a coaching position at Arizona State, Kodi Burns decided it was time for a change.

It was announced Tuesday that Burns has left Tempe to take a position on Auburn's coaching staff. A former wide receiver under Gus Malzahn, Burns will coach the pass-catchers at his alma mater. He also will assume the role as Co-Offensive Coordinator.
Since finishing his collegiate playing career, Burns has involved himself in the realm of coaching. After graduate assistant jobs at Arkansas State and Auburn, Burns took the running backs coach position at Samford. He then went to Middle Tennessee -- before leaving for Todd Graham's program this past January.

It will be fascinating to see how Burns adapts as a Co-Offensive Coordinator -- considering he doesn't have any experience in this capacity. However, his longstanding history with Malzahn (as both a player and coach) should aid the transition. Burns reportedly is also a dynamic recruiter.
Arizona State will now have to scramble to find someone to fill the vacancy with spring practice starting in less than a month. Including Burns' departure, ASU has lost three running backs coaches (Chip Long, Bo Graham, Burns) in the past six months.
