West Virginia CB transfer Rasul Douglas cleared for practice
That defensive backfield has gotten even better. Over the weekend, prized junior college signee Rasul Douglas was cleared to begin practicing, Geoff Coyle of West Virginia Illustrated reported. The four-star cornerback had been waiting to hear back from the NCAA before joining the Mountaineers on the field.
It will be interesting to see if Douglas can work his way onto the field before West Virginia opens in two weeks against Georgia Southern. The Mountaineers return both starting cornerbacks form last year in Daryl Worley and Terrell Chestnut. Douglas, however, has the talent to help the Mountaineers, either as a key backup or as a third corner in dime packages. After all, he had offers from the likes of Florida State and Tennessee coming out of Nassau (New York) Community College, where he was a juco All-American.
