What hirings of Gran and Hinshaw mean for Kentucky
With the hopes of boosting its struggling offense, Kentucky announced the hiring of Cincinnati coaches Eddie Gran and Darin Hinshaw on Tuesday.

Gran will fulfill the role as the offensive coordinator, and Hinshaw will act as the quarterbacks coach for the Wildcats.
In order for Mark Stoops' program to take the next step in becoming a consistent fixture in the SEC East, the offense needs immense improvement. It finished No. 89 overall in total offense this past year. Inconsistency and a general lack of creativity were the main culprits behind the somewhat poor ranking.
Conversely, Gran and Hinshaw were part of a Bearcats' offense which ranked No. 7 nationally in total offense -- accruing an average of 537.8 yards per game.
Couple that with the fact Gran has recruiting connections all across the Southeast portion of the country (particularly in South Florida), Kentucky may have hit a home run with these two hirings.
