What's Bruin Show - Episode 105 - UCLA Football and The Pesky Stanford Cardinal
In Episode 105 of the What’s Bruin Show, we break down the UCLA Football team’s victory over BYU, then get into one of the more important games of the season for the Bruins… the game against the Stanford Cardinal.
In this latest episode, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I break down the UCLA Football team’s win over BYU last week and preview the battle against Stanford.
There were several good things that happened against BYU, but it was not perfect. The offense took its time to get their groove, but not without some growing pains.
Quarterback Josh Rosen started slow, which included several inaccurate passes and an interception.

The good news is that he led several time consuming drives which utilized the strengths of the offense, which is a positive for us. Though UCLA was only able to put up 17 points, it says something that Rosen was able to pass for 307 yards.
But that wasn’t even the best part. UCLA’s defense played the best we have seen in a long time as they limited BYU to 23 total rush yards. 23!
Needles to say, we were very excited about it and what it means for the future.
The funny thing is that the future is now, or at least to will be on Saturday. The game that will be will feature UCLA against a stingy opponent that has not lost to the Bruins in eight attempts, the Stanford Cardinal.
