When will Kliff name his starting QB? He gives a hint
Picking the right quarterback is Kliff Kingsbury's No. 1 priority, so the third-year Texas Tech coach isn't going to rush his decision.
Incumbent Davis Webb is locked in a battle with Patrick Mahomes, who played well late last season when Davis went down with an injury.
Now, while Kingsbury wants to take his time and make the right call, which is why he didn't name a starter following spring practices, he says he's going to make his decision relatively early in fall camp.
"We'll get into fall camp," Kingsbury said Tuesday during the Big 12 coaches spring conference call. "I don’t want to take it too far into fall camp. I want to get, with the veteran team we have coming back, I want to get that flow going earlier than later."
