Where will Charles Nelson play for Ducks in 2015?
While the Oregon coaching staff figures out where to play do-everything WR/DB Charles Nelson in 2015, Nelson is preparing to play every single snap this season.
"He'd play every snap," Oregon coach Mark Helfrich said Tuesday, according to Andrew Greif of The Oregonian. "He's just the kid on the playground that wants to do everything. He's the kid in the all-comer's meet that does every event and ends up with 700 blue ribbons."
Nelson was a stand-out on special teams last season as a freshman and came into his own as a wide receiver by the end of the season.
However, Nelson has practiced mostly at cornerback during the spring. The Ducks are relatively thin in the defensive backfield, especially as compared to the stable of wide receivers the Ducks have at their disposal. In fact, even without Nelson, the Ducks wide receiving corps may be the best in the nation.
As for a decision on Nelson's future, Helfrich is not nearing a decision:
"Charles is still to be determined," Helfrich said, according to Greif. "That's a wrestling match of coaches."
Wherever Nelson plays in 2015, you can bet he'll be in the endzone.
