Wisconsin Football: Final Thoughts from MSU Victory
Wisconsin Football Deserves More Credit
With two wins over top ten teams in the last four weeks the Wisconsin Football team is off to a dream start that not many thought they would achieve going into the season. However, after the win many are starting to overlook the Badgers once again. The two wins have been written off because of struggles from the other schools, and its frustrating as a fan of this program. Wisconsin is often overlooked nationally for not winning the biggest games but so far they have so give credit where credit is due.
The win over LSU is now looking less valuable to the National Media as they recently fell to 2-2 and fired Les Miles. But that doesn’t outweigh the significance of a victory over a top five team. A team that many National Media outlets picked to be in the college football playoff. They shut down everyone’s Heisman prediction on the biggest stage. I know predictions are meaningless but credit does not deserve to be taken away from the Badgers. They dominated every side of the football in the game and showed that they can play with the powerhouses across the nation.
Now many are starting to be written off as well. With Michigan States victory over Notre Dame looking less valuable after the Irish fell to 1-3 many are beginning to say that the Spartans aren’t as good as they thought after being rolled by Wisconsin. Whatever your thoughts, the Badgers deserve more credit.
Going on the road is never easy, and Wisconsin went and rolled Michigan State in a very hostile environment against a Top Ten team. I know the teams they’ve beaten don’t have the same weight as the once did, but that doesn’t mean the Badgers don’t deserve most of the credit in these victories. The positive for Wisconsin is that they have continual opportunities to keep proving themselves and they’ll face bigger tests going forward. A big win on the road against MSU shows that they can play on the road, and will have to continue to play that way on Saturday. Michigan State is no longer the focus, the page now turns to the match up in the Big House.
