Would an in-state showdown boost Texas Bowl?

Texas Tech exited the 2015 regular season on a high note, taking down in-state rival Texas in Austin for the first time since 1997.

It was a wildly entertaining game on Thanksgiving eve, and several teams in the state are bowl eligible. With the Texas Bowl looming, wouldn't it make sense to feature two teams from The Lone Star State?

Texas Tech is a prime candidate for the Texas bowl, and perhaps they'll play another in-state rival this winter. The Dallas Morning News takes a look at some potential opponents for Tech.
