Yes, Michigan has worked on its Hail Mary defense prior to hosting BYU

BYU comes to Ann Arbor this week with a 2-1 record that is thanks in large part to a pair of last-minute touchdown passes that propelled the 22nd-ranked Cougars to victory.

Just like the rest of college football, Michigan's coaches took notice.

“It is a scary situation, for sure,” Michigan secondary coach Mike Zordich said this week during the "Inside Michigan Football" television show (via via the Detroit News. “Nobody wants to go into the locker room winning the whole game and then end up losing. That’s not a good feeling."

Fortunately for the Wolverines, Zordich said Hail Mary prevention has been a part of practice since the preseason.

"It has been worked on and it’s something we do week in and week out," Zordich said. "At the end of every week we put three or four plays in for that particular play, and we just go over it and go over it and go over it and that’s all you can do.

"And hopefully when it happens we do what we’re supposed to do, knock the ball down, box out and get those receivers out of the way.”
