Here are the “We Want Bama!” types, the “Chris Petersen is a coaching immortal” souls who truly believe the Washington Huskies can scale Mount Saban and upset the most dominant college football program in recent history.

After hanging on to the No. 4 seed in the College Football Playoffs and drawing undefeated Alabama in the Peach Bowl, one would think that Washington Huskies fans would be crowing about their chances against the Crimson Tide.

Instead, it seems the prevailing view from the Pacific Northwest – at least on the electric Twitter machine – is one of gratitude. Happy to be a part of the CFP, happy to rep the Pac-10, happy to earn a trip to Atlanta on New Year’s Eve.

Just kinda happy that the seemingly inevitable beatdown has yet to fully realize itself.
