Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl Live Stream: Watch Army vs North Texas Online

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 12:00 a.m. ET

Here’s how you can watch the Heart of Dallas Bowl online live from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas between Army and North Texas on December 26.

North Texas is lucky to be bowling anywhere after finishing their regular season 5-7. The Mean Green made the Heart of Dallas Bowl thanks only to a high academic progress rate. This will be a rematch of an October 22 game between the two schools in West Point. There North Texas pulled off one of its five wins on the year, winning 35-18. The Black Knights coughed up seven turnovers at home. Army lost despite out-gaining North Texas by 83 yards and enjoying over 37 minutes of possession.

Army had one of those sorts of seasons that began as a mirage and ended with a bang. The Black Knights won their first three games, including the season opener over AAC champion Temple. Then they fell back to earth, losing their next three FBS contests before taking down Wake Forest. Because they played two FCS opponents, their upset win over Navy was critical to their chances of reaching the Heart of Dallas Bowl. A top-15 defense is paired with the nation’s second-best rushing attack to give Army a dangerous possession-based style.

The game was formed in 2011 as the Dallas Football Classic and then the TicketCity Bowl. Now the Heart of Dallas Bowl is the only postseason game held at the venerable Cotton Bowl stadium. This year marks just the second time that a Power Five team will not participate. It is also the first time that the game will feature a rematch of a game already played during the regular season. Here is how you can watch the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl online.

Date: Tuesday, Dec. 27

Key Matchup to Watch: Nearly one-fifth of Jeffrey Wilson’s 855 rushing yards, and nearly a quarter of his total touchdowns, came in the Oct. 22 win over Army on the road. A Black Knights defense that has held opponents under 125 yards per game in 2016 gave up 202 to the Mean Green. Can the Army front seven contain North Texas on the ground, or will Wilson have their number again?
