'Zero separation' in Oregon State's QB competition

Published Aug. 19, 2015 5:33 p.m. ET

According to head coach Gary Andersen (via The Oregonian's Gina Mizell), there is "absolutely zero separation" at the quarterback position between true freshman Seth Collins and redshirt freshman Marcus McMaryion.

The offense sputtered in practice on Tuesday, which isn't a good sign for either QB. However, Andersen was quick to point out that the other offensive players weren't doing their jobs well, either.

"The supporting cast isn't exactly doing their job, either," Andersen said, according to Mizell. "So it's not just the quarterbacks. It's the offensive line. It's the wide receivers. It's the tight ends. It's the communication. It's our inability to get plays called the right way, apparently. We've got a lot of issues."

Don't expect a resolution any time soon between McMaryion and Collins.
