Here's a jaw-dropping stat to remind you how dominant Tiger Woods was

Watching the endless cycle of Tiger Woods' injuries, recoveries and failed comebacks can make it easy to forget just how unstoppable he was in his prime (which, astoundingly, may have occurred a decade ago) - which is why stats like these are truly mind-boggling.

Jason Day captured his second WGC-Match Play title Sunday, which puts him on a very exclusive list of players to win two WGC events (which includes Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, Ernie Els and Adam Scott). There are only two players in history to win more than two WGC events since the series began in 1999, and you'll probably never guess who sits in second.

The same year Geoff Ogilvy won his only major (the U.S. Open), he defeated Davis Love III in the final of the Match Play Championship for his first WGC title. Ogilvy would go on to win the 2008 WGC-CA Championship, and won a second Match Play title in 2009 (this time over Paul Casey).

The leader in all-time WGC wins, though, has more titles than the next eight golfers on the list combined. From 1999 to 2013, Tiger Woods won 18 of a total 50 WGC events (not including the WGC-World Cup), meaning he won more than a third of all the tournaments in that span.

To put that in perspective, only 38 golfers in the history of the PGA Tour have more than 18 career wins. Because WGC events (and majors) are sanctioned as European Tour events as well, Woods places third on the all-time European Tour wins list at 40 despite never actually joining the European Tour.
