McIlroy grabs No. 1 ranking back from Spieth
For the fourth straight week, there is a new No. 1 in professional golf.
Despite the PGA Tour being off last week, Rory McIlroy retook the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking, bumping Jordan Spieth back to No. 2. It is the first time since 1997 that the No. 1 ranking has traded hands in four consecutive weeks.
The No. 1 ranking could change again after this week, as both players will tee it up in the BMW Championship at Conway Farms in Lake Forest, Ill.
The rest of the top 10 remained the same: No. 3 Jason Day, No. 4 Bubba Watson, No. 5 Rickie Fowler, No. 6 Henrik Stenson, No. 7 Jim Furyk, No. 8 Justin Rose, No. 9 Dustin Johnson and No. 10 Sergio Garcia.
As for Tiger Woods, he fell 11 spots, to No. 283.
