Tiger Woods has 'full practice session,' is hitting drivers
All eyes are on Augusta National this week as the 80th edition of the Masters is officially underway, but the man with 14 major championships is making news of his own away from Georgia.
While Tiger Woods obviously isn't playing in the year's first major, he's back home in Florida working to make his long-awaited return at some point in 2016. And according to his agent Mark Steinberg, he's continuing to make good progress.
Steinberg told Bob Harig of ESPN that Woods was hitting drivers on the range at The Medalist in Florida.
"He was at The Medalist today, and he had a full practice session and he was hitting driver," Steinberg said. "I can't tell you if it was a full speed or full bore, because I wasn't there. Like he and I have both said, he felt like he is continuing to make progress."
Golf Channel reported that he was hitting at full speed, though Steinberg couldn't confirm such. Regardless, the fact that he's able to hit a driver in any capacity is a positive sign. It also goes along with Steinberg's earlier comments saying he "absolutely" expects Woods back on the course this year.
