Tiger Woods could be preparing to make his return to the PGA Tour at The Players Championship later this month.
Woods recently booked accommodation plans for The Players Championship in Florida and the Memorial Tournament in Ohio, according to Reuters.
The former world No. 1 has been rehabbing from two back surgeries since last fall, and hasn't played on the tour since finishing T-10 at the Wyndham Championship last August.
Woods recently registered for the U.S. Open, which will be played at Oakmont Country Club in June, so playing at TPC Sawgrass or Muirfield Village would give him time to tune up for the second major of the year.
The 14-time major winner has two victories at TPC Sawgrass, most recently in 2013. However, he has seen his fair share of struggles at The Stadium Course and the May 12-15 tournament could be too soon for Woods to return.
On the other hand, the Memorial could be the perfect place for Woods to begin his comeback. He's won the event five times and has never missed a cut. Memorial host Jack Nicklaus recently told Cleveland.com that he would love to see Woods play at Muirfield, but isn't exactly counting on it.
"All I would do is tell him I would support him,'' Nicklaus told Cleveland.com. "If he wants to play, I would love to have him. If he doesn't think he's ready to play, then he shouldn't play. It would be a nice surprise for the tournament, but I would say the chances are no better than one in five. That's not bad. It's better than zero."
Woods has been quiet about his comeback plans, but he recently shared videos on social media of his swing and has said he's "progressing" nicely.
