WASHINGTON (AP) Tyler Moore and the Washington Nationals have agreed to a $900,000, one-year contract, avoiding arbitration.

The deal came ahead of Wednesday night's deadline for teams to offer contracts to unsigned players on their 40-man rosters.

The Nationals also avoided arbitration with backup catcher Jose Lobaton by agreeing to a $1,387,500 deal for 2016. Lobaton hit .199 last season.

Right-handed reliever Craig Stammen, who had season-ending right arm surgery in April, was not tendered a contract for 2016.

The Nationals did make offers to starter Stephen Strasburg, reliever Drew Storen, infielders Anthony Rendon and Danny Espinosa, and catcher Wilson Ramos.

Moore hit .203 with six homers, 27 RBIs and 45 strikeouts in a career-high 187 at-bats last season for the Nationals.

He has appeared in 277 games across four major league seasons, all with Washington, batting .228 with 24 homers and 91 RBIs, spending time as a first baseman and an outfielder.
