Adam Ottavino, Rockies reportedly agree to three-year extension
The Colorado Rockies are apparently confident reliever Adam Ottavino will bounce back well from Tommy John surgery.
According to multiple outlets, the Rockies and Ottavino have agreed to a three-year extension worth $10.4 million. The deal, which the team has yet to announce, will pay the 30-year-old right-hander $1.3 million in 2016, $2.1 million in 2017, and $7 million in 2018, per the Denver Post.
Since being picked up off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012, Ottavino has posted an 8-8 record with a 3.44 ERA and 242 strikeouts in 232 2/3 innings with Colorado.
His fourth season with the Rockies was cut short in May last year, when he had Tommy John surgery. He's expected to be back on the hill for Colorado sometime in June or July.
