A's Doolittle was 'shaking' after picking up first save since 2014
Oakland Athletics reliever Sean Doolittle's long journey back to the pitching mound came full circle on Monday afternoon.
After making his return from a left shoulder strain (and subsequent rehab stint) in late August, Doolittle showed some signs of returning to form last week, returning to the low-90s with his fastball and mixing in some developed off-speed pitches as well.
On Monday, he sailed through a perfect ninth inning, setting down the heart of the first-place Houston Astros' order and locking down his first save since September 19 of last season.
As you'd imagine, Doolittle was particularly pumped up after it was all over, as evidenced by this text he sent his girlfriend Eireann Dolan (as shared on Twitter by Dolan):
Yes you did. And I've never been more proud. pic.twitter.com/B31b7nYrik

He also expressed similar levels of excitement when speaking with media members after the game:

If Doolittle is indeed 'back', this is a wonderful development for the Green and Gold. Having a healthy and dominant 'Doo at the back end of the 'pen heading into 2016 will go far toward improving the relief corps.
