Astros roll out 'Keuchel's Korner' for first time at Minute Maid Park

On Thursday night, Houston Astros ace Dallas Keuchel threw another complete game shutout, blanking the New York Yankees 4-0. It also just so happened to mark the Minute Maid Park debut of Keuchel's Korner, a fun themed section of the ballpark that saw fans be handed fake beards and bright orange t-shirts in celebration of Keuchel's dominance on the mound.

It's along the same lines as what the Seattle Mariners do with their 'King's Court', honoring Felix Hernandez whenever he makes a start at Safeco Field.

With Keuchel one of those 'under-the-radar' pitchers in the eyes of the national media, despite being one of the league's best-performing individuals so far in 2015, Astros team president Reid Ryan is hopeful that this new promotion will earn the team's ace more attention. As he said to Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle: “The shirts are awesome. We’re hoping this is something that will catch on and also bring him some notoriety for being one of the better pitchers in the league.”
